What is Eton mess?

Eton mess is a classic British dessert made with strawberries, cream, and meringue. The word “mess” says it all — the ingredients are layered together in a delightfully messy and casual way. This dessert is incredibly easy to make and combines the perfect balance of flavours: fresh, sweet strawberries, soft cream, and crunchy meringue. Will you be trying this summery classic?

Eton mess for Christmas

Eton mess is a favourite during the festive season — not just for its delicious taste, but also for its quick and easy preparation. It can be ready in just 15 minutes, making it ideal when you’ve already spent time in the kitchen on other courses. You can even prepare ahead of time by chopping the strawberries and breaking up the meringues before dinner to make things even easier.

Beekers’ tip: Serve the ingredients in individual glasses so everyone has their own Eton mess.
